Our Story

God has been and continues to be faithful to the people known as Flatrock Community Church.

How it all started...

In January 2015, Pastor J Hager joined the West End Community Church staff to be trained and equipped to plant a church in Nashville. After much prayer and discussion J and his wife Natalie felt called to move their family to the Woodbine neighborhood to plant a church. After gathering a launch team together to support the work, we served the community and met for bible study until it was apparent that everyone was ready to begin worshipping together as a mission Church that we named Flatrock Community Church. On August 7, 2016 we held our first service at Whitsitt Elementary School.

Expanding the vision...

The Lord continued to add to our number and raise up leaders to shepherd and serve the congregation. After nearly two years with continued growth, generous giving, and the provision of necessary leadership, we decided to move from a mission church to a particularized congregation. In May of 2018 we became a self-sustaining body. God continued to grow His church and use her people to share the transforming love of Jesus with our neighbors.
We saw God’s Kingdom advance in incredible ways in Woodbine and throughout Nashville through the conversion of new believers!

The Story isn't over...

While the Lord in his providence led Flatrock to close her doors in the summer of 2022 after six years of fruitful ministry, the Story is not over. We believe that we will continue to see the fruit of this wonderful ministry for years to come as God works out his plan in the lives of his people in his own perfect timing. All glory to God!
