Our Story

God has been faithful in His provision for Flatrock! Here's a bit about where we've been and where we're headed.

How it all started...

In January 2015, Pastor J joined West End Community Church staff to be trained and equipped to plant a church in Nashville. After much prayer and discussion J and his wife Natalie felt called to move their family to the Woodbine neighborhood and plant a church. After gathering a launch team together to support the work, we served the community and met for bible study until it was apparent that a everyone was ready to begin worshipping together as a mission Church we named Flatrock Community Church. On August 7, 2016 we held our first service at Whitsitt Elementary School. The Lord continued to add to our umber and raise up leaders to shepherd and serve the congregation. After nearly 2 years with continued growth, generous giving, and the provision of necessary leadership, we decided to move from a mission church to a particularized congregation. In May of 2018 we became a self-sustaining body. God continues to grow His Church and use its people to share the transforming love of Jesus with our neighbors. We continue on to this day in hopes of seeing God’s Kingdom advance in Woodbine and beyond for many more years to come.

Expanding the vision...

We exist to help people learn to die to themselves and live for Christ in hopes of creating a community that is ready to offer the transforming love of Jesus to our neighbors and beyond through worship, feast groups, bible studies, community engagement, neighborly love, and acts of service to those in need.

Where we are headed...

Our hope for the future of Flatrock is that God would bless us in such a way that we might be able to raise up new church planters to expand our mission and vision throughout south Nashville through planting new congregations.
